DEI Board Mission Statement:

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board (DEIB) on Butler University’s Student Government Association aims to educate students and to continue a larger dialogue about social justice that not only includes, but rather is guided by and follows the lead of the voices of marginalized peoples. DEIB seeks to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment on Butler’s campus by adopting an intersectional approach and fostering a culture that promotes acceptance and understanding of all people. We do so by programming events and activities, hosting trainings, and taking on initiatives that are centered around our vision for a better, more equitable future for all Butler students. Composed of student leaders, DEIB is a non-hierarchical board that is broken down into three areas of focus: Education and Advocacy, Gender and Sexuality, and Race, Ethnicity & Spirituality.
